Park Bench Donations for the Rowland Nature Preserve PDF Print E-mail

altElyria Township is offering the opportunity to donate a treated wood park bench for the Rowland Nature Preserve for a period of 10 years. The bench is approximately 7’ long and will be permanently installed at or near your desired location at the Preserve.

 

A 4” x 6” plastic plaque with the donor’s information will be attached to the top rail of the bench. The location of the donated bench and the language used on the recognition plaques are subject to review and approval by Elyria Township. The donation of $250.00 will cover the construction, installation, recognition plaque, sealing and routine maintenance of the bench.

altCome and meet your new 4th US District Congressman, Jim Jordan on Thursday, May 30th from 5 - 7 p.m. at Amherst Township Hall located at 7530 Oberlin Road in Elyria.

Volunteer organizations, communities, church groups, youth groups, girl/boy scouts, etc. can borrow our trailer and its equipment for FREE!


Authorized agent must be at least 25 years old to sign out the trailer and drive away with it.  A copy of valid drivers license is required.


You must be at least 21 years old to operate the power equipment in the trailer.


The trailer must be requested in writing prior to the date to allow time for scheduling, etc. and can be requested to use for up to 72 hours.


Trailer must be picked up and returned to the collection center.


The equipment in the trailer enables groups/organizations to perform site cleanups or beautifications, plant community gardens, etc.


Some of the equipment in the trailer: lawn mower, leaf blower, trimmer, assorted rakes, shovels, pruners, gardening tools, safety vests, gloves, safety cones, garbage bags, etc.


We ask that the groups that borrow our trailer take and send us before and after pictures of their projects so that we can use them to help promote the program.

On Saturday, May 11, Trustee Rick Hutman; Bill and Melissa from Straightline Landscaping and Invest Elyria Twp took on the Dinner Bell Triangle project. What a job! Dinner Bell graciously provided a good, hot lunch on this brisk day.  Straightline VOLUNTEERED their time, equipment and supplies.  The awesome Township Road Department will maintain this property from now on.
