Republic Services now accepts cartons for recycling! The last drop of milk, juice or soup does not mark the end of a carton's useful life. Cartons are easy to recycle and in high demand.
How? Simply place empty cartons in your recycling bin with your plastic, metal and glass containers.
The bales of recycled cartons are shipped to paper mills, where cartons are mixed with water in a gigantic blender to extract all the paper fiber. These recycled carton paper fibers are a vauable resource for making products such as recycled paper products and even building materials.
Contact Republic Services at 800.433.1309. For more information on how cartons are recycled, visit www.RecycleCartons.com. For even more information, click here and here.

Trustee Rob Scheithauer honored as the 2012 Elyria Township Hall of Fame inductee inductee
In 1987 Rob was offered and accepted the position of Zoning Inspector. After the tragic death of Trustee Homer Blackstone in 1990, the Board of Trustees appointed Rob to fill Homer’s unexpired term. Rob accepted that position and ran for re-election and has been an Elyria Township Trustee for 22 years now. Rob has been instrumental in starting or is involved in just about every project in the Township—too many to list. Rob has displayed nothing but positive support for Elyria Township. The Township’s unofficial slogan is: If you need something done, call Rob.
Carl Snezek, Elyria Township Community Day emcee, has a clever way of announcing the inductee. When Rob realized Carl was talking about him, he was astonished. Rob was extremely appreciative and emotional. He gave the crowd a sweet, impromptu acceptance speech. |

The work on the Freeland Drive resurfacing project was delayed from last year due to a lack of funds from the Ohio Public Works Commission. It came this spring, starting in early May and finishing on May 11th. The work consisted of concrete curb repairs, stabilization of the existing base, and a new asphalt resurfacing.
