Without our vehicles and equipment we would not be able to maintain the township roads and keep the township looking beautiful. Below is a brief description of the hardware that makes this possible.

road equipment
The new 2009 International 7400 dump truck is used for everyday operations, winter snow removal and salting of the roads. Next is the 1990 Ford L-8000 dump truck which is used for hauling material and for every day operations. It was replaced by the International for snow removal and salting. The 1995 Ford F-750 dump truck, is used in addition to the International for snow removal and salting of the roads and for leaf collection in the fall. It is also used for everyday operations when the larger trucks are too large.

The 2000 Dodge 1-ton dump truck along with the 1994 Brush Bandit wood chipper is used for chipping brush. This is usually done the last Monday of each month from January until September or if limbs are downed due to storm damage. This truck is used for small jobs and it carries all of the needed hand tools. The 1997 leaf collection trailer is for leaf collection each fall. This unit helps us to keep the township neat and clean. See the News Page on the Community Menu or the Calendar Page for details on brush removal and Dumpster Days.

Next is the 1998 New Holland backhoe we use for all ditch and tile jobs, moving salt, wood chips, leaf mulch and multitude of other jobs. We could not operate without this piece of equipment.

The rubber tire roller is used when we are doing the tar and chip coverage of some of the local roads to help to preserve them and keep them passable for our residents.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email or call our office.

Brush collection: January through September

Brush collection starts the last Monday of each month, except for October, November and December due to leaf collection, but will resume in January. Please call (440) 324-3517 before 8:00AM prior to the last Monday, if you don't call we may not pick it up. Leave your name, address and phone number and please talk slowly so we can schedule our route for that day. Calls received after 8:00AM Monday of collection will be added to the list for the following month.

Do not bag your brush. Place the cut ends of your branches toward the road. If you have a large quantity help us out and spread it out across your yard. When the piles get high it is hard to pull the branches out. Our chipper does not like prickers, flowers, weeds, corn stocks, any type of grape vine material, or fire wood size logs. They plug up our filters and intake screens and get caught up in the feed reels. If you pay a contractor to trim or cut down your tree they are responsible for what they do. the Road Department will not pick it up. This was a motion passed by the Board of Trustees.

Wood chips are free to township residents and they can be dropped off in your driveway when the Road Department is out chipping. Residents may also pick them up at the township garage.

We have a small amount of leaf mulch for flower beds or gardens. Pickup only, no deliveries.
